5 Cities in France You Should Definitely Visit

France is one of the most beautiful countries that decorate our dreams. When I say France, most of you already started to think about Paris. Then, let’s look at the most beautiful places in France. (:

1.Paris

One of the most beautiful places in France is definitely Paris. The capital city of France is the most popular tourist attraction in the country with its magical streets and impressive museums. Louvre Museum, Musee de la Musiqa, and Petit Palais are just a few of them.

Moreover, if you adore shopping and makeup like me, you should definitely go to Champs-Elysees street. Likewise, you can easily find cosmetic products from Galeries Lafayette and Au Printemps. In those streets, you will find plenty of clothes and cosmetics.

The best part is all those things that you are going to buy will be tax-free. In addition, if you buy cheese, fruit or alcohol, the best option will be Rue Mouffetard area. Or, if you just want to buy something symbolic, you can buy Eiffel Tower, La Cathedrale Notre-Dame or Sacre Coeur trinkets. Let’s continue with other places in France that you should definitely visit.

2.Nice

We will continue our must-visit places in France with Nice. I’m sure you’ll love that Mediterranean city. If you like harbors, Nice-Villefranche will steal your heart. Firstly, you should see all the city from the top of the Nice Castle. Don’t forget about St.Nicholas Cathedral. You may check some museums like the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Marc Chagall Museum and Villa Massena Museum.

The best areas that you can do shopping are Cours Saleya and Nice Old Town. There are plenty of food, drinks, traditional cheese, and traditional soap. Famous Nice Flower Market is also there. Jean Medicine Street is also a nice option for shopping. It’s wrong to forget to talk about Rue Massena & Rue Paradis Avenue. This street is closed to traffic and there are lots of cafes and restaurants to take a breath.

3.Lyon

My favorite place in France is Lyon because the best thing you can do in Lyon is eating. Yes, you didn’t hear wrong. Before you fill your stomach, you should see some places. Place des Terreauxma is assuming as the center of Lyon. There are lots of cafes and restaurants around. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a concert in this area. This is just between you and me, the pictures that you are going to taken on the Bartholdi Fountain will be the best profile photo you have ever had.

Notre-Dame de Fourviere Basilica must be your next destination. As a hint, do not try to use stairs!  Fourviere, Vieux Lyon, Croix-Rousse ile Prequel areas are protected by UNESCO. And, do not come back before you see the Musee Miniature & Cinema. Don’t forget, you can still catch the Lyon Light Festival!

4.Bordeaux

When we say Bordeaux, the first thing we have imagined is wine. I think it makes the city one of the most magical places in France. Oysters, wine, and Caneles is the best triple you should definitely try. You can find the freshest oysters in this city. I don’t need to talk about wine a lot because you can find it everywhere and even if it’s cheap (not too much)  it would be delicious.

You should drink white and rose ones, and buy some red ones as a gift. Caneles is a type of dessert. It has a specific shape and it’s pastry tastes like vanilla and rum. As a tip, Caneles Baillardran is a good place to buy a gift. Dune du Pilat is one of the most beautiful places in the Bordeaux. It is called a desert near an ocean. Triangle d’Or is the wealthiest place in Bordeaux and shaped as a triangle.

The famous Notre Dame Church is in this area. Monument aux Girondins is a pretty impressive fountain and it was built dedicated to the French Revolution. Porte Caillou and Grand theatre should be your other destinations.

5.Marseille

Last must-visit place in France is Marseille. It is the second biggest city in France. You should start your journey with Vieux Port. It means ‘old harbor’ and one of the most magical and favorite places in Marseille. If you are crazy about fancy clothes, you should definitely check the Joliette area. There are chic boutiques and Haussmann types of buildings will greet you.

Savon de Marseille is something you should buy. It is a traditional soap and you can easily find it from shops or outdoor benches around the Vieux Port. Another interesting piece is a traditional miniature of Aix En Provance city and it is named Santon. It might be a bit expensive but don’t let prices fool you. They are perfect as a memory and as a gift. In spite of them, my favorite one is cockchafer figures. Cockchafer is the symbol of Marseille and Provan’s area. There are plenty of souvenirs shaped by cockchafer and they are beautiful from each other.
