Ghent, the city of three towers, is one of the most attractive cities of Belgium. The city is famous for it’s three different towers. The city is located in the Flanders area of Belgium. Graslei and Korenlei

Graslei and Korenlei is the first place you may visit in Ghent. They are the names of two shores of the channel. You should sit in a cafe near the channel and watch the lights in the evening.

Sint-Niklaaskerk

Gorgeous Sint-Niklaaskerk is one of the most important places you should visit in Ghent. It is located in front of the Korenmarkt. Also, you should definitely see the musical instrument in the church made by Aristide Cavaille-Coll. It is the last one of the three towers.

Gravensteen Castle

It is located nearby the Leie river. The castle was used as a courthouse, jail, and factory. Now it is a museum that you can see torture and execution devices. It is also one of the most beautiful places you should visit in Ghent to watch the view.

Belfort en Lakenhal (Belfry Tower)

Belfry Tower is another beautiful place you should visit in Ghent. It is the symbol of the city and the second of the three towers. It is the highest tower in Belgium, its height is 91 meters. When you enter the tower, after you climb the first two stairs you can use the elevator. On the second floor, you will see the dragon sculpture which is a symbol of Ghent.

Sint-Baafskathedraal (St Bavo’s Cathedral)

It is the first one of the three towers. That magnificent tower was decorated with peerless paintings. You will adore the decoration and the gothic design of the tower.

Stadsmuseum Ghent (STAM)

Stadsmuseum in Ghent is an entertaining place you should visit in Ghent. You can search for all the history of Ghent in the museum. There are more than 3000 historical objects, interactive and visual materials are waiting for you to see. If you want, you can create your own city with LEGO’s. It would be an amusing activity. You have to give 8 euros to enter.

Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst (SMAK-City Museum for Contemporary Art)

It is another impressive place you should visit in Ghent. There are lots of beautiful paintings that belong to world-famous artists such as Karel Appel, Francis Bacon, Panamarenko, and Andy Warhol. You have to give 8 euros to enter.

St.Michael’s Church

St.Michael’s Church stands out with its opulent interior design. It was preferred Gothic style for the outside of the church, and Neo-Gothic style for the inside of it. You can also find a copy of Michelangelo’s painting. As I mentioned before, there are lots of beautiful places to visit in Ghent and the church is one of them.
